July Project Update

Design is making smooth progress –

Upper concourse structural steel has commenced with the large, welded beams being lifted into position. The remaining concrete plat seating has been installed including the VIP seating area that sits outside the Hamilton Room.
The last of the GBRA ground slabs were poured and blockwork and concrete columns followed allowing for the commencement of formwork.
The concourse walkways have been lined with Bondek in preparation for concrete works to follow the already poured entry ramp and stairs.
The service trades have increased activity on site with rough in commencing on the amenities.
A big month of August awaits with the following key objectives to be undertaken:
- FRP main Level 1 slab to North Stand Building
- Continued install of structural steel to upper concourse and north stand building.
- Install Purlins in preparation for roofing commencement
- Continue with scaffold installation as required
- Majority of blockwork to be finalised in August with the remaining lift shaft and access stairs to be completed in September
- Installation of footings and lower steel for cricket sight screen
- Footings to be installed in preparation for the Plaza deck

May Project Update
June Project Update
June proved to be a productive month with some good weather finally prevailing. This allowed the Great Barrier Reef Arena structure to really start to take shape.

The month of May unfortunately saw more unseasonable wet weather fall across the Mackay Region. Despite this works have been progressing well with both Civil Bulk Earthworks and Civil Stormwater nearing completion and all footings for the main building structure complete.

Works continued in March with the large footings beams to the grandstand area being poured up to Gridline 11. Footings and ground slabs will continue to progress into April.

With February a short month, and amongst recent wet weather, the piling platform works are now complete with the piling works wrapping up this week. The piling rig will leave site Monday putting an end to the noisiest portion of works on the project.

The team are back on deck after the Christmas New Year break.
Design is still progressing, whilst on the ground, progress has been made on the piling platform and early civil works, with the driven piling works to commence next week.
