February Project Update

Works on Great Barrier Reef Arena continue….

Design is making smooth progress – 

• Structural is complete

• Architectural are 90% complete – with final client changes to be undertaken
• Architectural Internal finishes and detailing well underway
• Electrical drawings now received and issued for Construction 

With February a short month, and amongst recent wet weather, the piling platform works are now complete with the piling works wrapping up this week. The piling rig will leave site Monday putting an end to the noisiest portion of works on the project.

Works continue with detailed excavation for the large footing beams whilst reinforcement is being tied in preparation to pour these footings in the month of March. 

Civil works continue along the entry road from Lamb Street to the turnaround area.

Electrical early works are wrapping up with the relocation of the control box and associated submains for the lighting tower to free up space for the new concourse walkway. 

The long lead time items on the project are well underway with the lift going into fabrication after shop drawings obtaining approval. Structural steel shop drawings are progressing with detailing to the lower concourse now complete and L1 North stand wall and roof framing expected any day now.

Upcoming Works for March include;

• In Ground Footings
• Civil Site Works Including Stormwater
• Commencement of Hydraulic Sewer works
• Preparation for Ground Slabs to Amenities
