Cricket Australia CEO Nick Hockley calls this summer “one of the most highly anticipated,” with the world’s attention on the extended Border-Gavaskar Trophy Series and the Women’s Ashes. For Mackay, hosting these T20 matches underscores its rising status in international cricket.

 

Adrian Young, CEO of Harrup Park, emphasises the significance of hosting top-tier international cricket at the arena, which opened last year. The hard work invested in the venue ensures an outstanding experience for players and fans alike.

 

 

Young also notes the games’ potential to attract up to six thousand attendees, boosting the local economy. Importantly, these matches inspire young boys and girls by allowing them to see their heroes in action, encouraging them to pursue elite sports.

Australia A v India A Showdowns Part of the Blockbuster Indian Summer 

 

Two four-day matches between Australia A and India A. The traveling India team will consist of players from the Indian Test squad and India A.

 

The lead-up games mean Australia will host the biggest Indian summer ever. With the hugely supported Indian men’s and women’s teams playing several matches in Australia.

 

The Australia A v India A matches will be played at Great Barrier Reef Arena in Mackay (31 Oct-3 Nov) and the MCG (7-10 Nov) respectively.
