Mackay’s GBRA opens with a spectacular Party in the Park

 

Thousands of members of the Mackay community took their first look at the new Great Barrier Reef Arena on Saturday 18th of March at the opening event, Party in the Park.

 

Held in conjunction with the DBCT Pool Cup grand final, Party in the Park offered carnival rides, kids entertainment, a mini eat street and live music across the afternoon and into the night.

 

Special thanks to Graeme Connors for writing and debuting a GBRA song for the occasion. It was heartfelt and captured the essence of what the journey has been to get us to this stage and a stepping point to a great future for us and all aspects of the community that we are proud to be associated with!
